Its name comes from the era of steam locomotives, which were housed in the long locomotive shed. The loss of importance of steam locomotives was accompanied by the switch to diesel and later electric traction in the 1960s &#8211; 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of staff at Lienz railway station and thus also at the train control centre in the boiler house fell significantly.
